That’s how Griet decided to explain her cancer journey to her granddaughter Ada. And that fairytale ended up helping Griet as well. Before she knew it, the innocence of a child, and the straightforwardness of their thinking was also something that she could use when she was stuck in anxiety. She realized she could learn something from the child’s mindset to cancer.

Greig decided to write down her cancer fairytale so that it could help other children (and adults), and she got help from her daughter in law for the illustrations of the book.
